The representative of the Republic of Serbia before the European Court of Human Rights, Zorana Jadrijević Mladar, in her capacity as a coordinator in the procedure for the execution of the Court's judgments, met on June 3, 2026 in the Ministry of Finance with representatives of the Department of the Council of Europe for the execution of judgments of the Court, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance.
Atthe meeting was, above all, about the execution of judgments from a group of casesKachapor (non-execution of domestic court decisions related to debts of social/state enterprises), and measures that still need to be taken in order to end the supervision before the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
Also, the verdict was discussedBut which is under increased supervision before the Committee of Ministers, and which refers to the extradition of the applicant to the Kingdom of Bahrain despite his claims that there he will be exposed to the risk of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment and life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, as well as despite the temporary measure by which the Court ordered the Republic of Serbia not to extradite the applicant.
Finally, they discussed the possibilities for changing the law and practice related to confiscation of property in criminal and misdemeanor proceedings, bearing in mind several judgments of the Court against Serbia related to that issue (Yaylal,Aksüngür and others,Çobantur Turizm Ticaret ve Nakliyat Ltd. Şti. andPrench), as well as the Criminal Procedure Code and the Civil Procedure Code in connection with the execution of judgmentsBlacksmith (hearing of the defendant during the extension of the detention measure) iBoljevic (impossibility of repeating the procedure establishing paternity due to statute of limitations).
